My youngest daughter has been saying for years that she wants to be a police officer. She was absolutely delighted to get this costume; she even asked to sleep in it!When we first opened it, she was engaged by all the accessories. Her favorite was the working whistle. She loves hats, and this one is supported so it doesn't flop. The belt is decent quality, reminding me of the Y2K trendy belts. The holster was easy to slip on, and seems pretty sturdy, and the weapon makes snap noises when pulled (I appreciated the orange safety!) My daughter was intrigued by the radio and walkie, which Dad showed her how to clip on her shoulder and belt. The baton is hollow plastic, probably for the best since my preschooler thought it was a drum stick! One side of the handcuffs broke the first time she tried arresting her big brother, but Dad was able to fix them easily.The uniform itself is pretty nice for a costume. I think it runs a bit small (as costumes tend to!) She usually wears size 8-10 (4'1", 60lbs) so I ordered the 9Y-12Y. The pants have extra length, but the shirt is just the right size. We were impressed with the metal buttons and detailed embroidered patches. My daughter was thrilled with the working pockets on the shirt, where she decided to store the cuff keys. It is 100% Polyester, and says to handwash, though the production description says it is machine washable I would be reluctant to do so.My 4yo now wants one, too, so we'll probably be ordering one for him. Definitely gender neutral and lots of imaginative play! The $25 price for everything is a great deal!
