The drying mat is not meant to be absorbent as it is made of a silicone type material. It is the right size as ordered (12x16) and it looks very nice on the counter.Its easy to clean and wash it quick, no more using a towel but my mom comes over and puts a towel over it, its like WHY?Such a great product for your kitchen! It’s so easy to clean, it drys fast and I like that it is rubber, so if I am stacking stuff.. nothing falls.Nice and big, catches all water. Thick, not too flimsy. I only uses occasionally when I have too many dishes for my little sink dish strainer. Once I am done I dump the extra water off. It does take a while to dry before I can roll it up and toss under the sinkit’s perfect for the little dishes we like to hand wash it gets water stains pretty easy but nothing badVery thick, sturdy mat!
